Mosaic Knitting with Karen Cassedy
Our venue, with its charming stone fireplace and protective shelter, ensures that we can enjoy this event come rain or shine. So, no matter what the weather brings, we’ll be there to knit, chat, and make new memories.

Loom Knitting with Louise Guglielmetti
Louise will share loom knitting projects that you can do with your children or grandchildren. Loom knitting is a great introduction to working with yarn for children. Children can use this knitting method for making Christmas gifts.

Holiday Celebration
Join us for a Holiday celebration with your knitting family. Please bring a dish to share and your choice of beverage. The guild will supply plates, cutlery, etc.
Bring a small, wrapped gift if you want to participate in our annual gift exchange. For show and share bring some of the projects you finished in 2024.
A drawing will be held for a free retreat during the gathering. All who came to last year’s retreat will be in the drawing. If you did not attend and want to be in the drawing or if you don’t want to be in the drawing, please contact Monica MacFarland.

Spinning 101 with Becky Jarvi and Shelley Stevens
Becky with her drop spindle and distaff and Shelley with her table top electric spinner are teaming up to demonstrate the how’s and why’s of spinning. They will elaborate on spinning’s unique terminology and techniques so you can better understand the process of going from fiber to the yarn in your knitting bag.

Log Cabin Knitting Elizabeth McDonough
Arrive at the class ready to roll by knitting the first square:
- With size 7 or 8 needles, cast on 10 stitches with worsted weight yarn.
- Knit 20 rows. There should be 10 garter ridges.
- Bind off using the traditional method of knit 2, pass first stitch on right needle over second stitch, knit 1, pass first stitch over the stitch just knit, and continue. DO NO BIND OFF THE LAST STITCH. Leave the last stitch on your needle.

Fitting Necks, Shoulders and Armholes Ann Davis
A brief overview of relevant fit principles. Common fit challenges and some simple solutions.
Mini Workshop 1-4 Why and How to fit necks, shoulders and armholes. Exploring fit solutions and customizing to your gauge and size. There is a $10 charge when you register for this workshop. There will be signup sheets at the meeting or contact Monica MacFarland to register.

Jacobsburg Mitten Katherine Misegades
In her presentation Katherine will introduce both texture and color knitting. Come to knit along.
Bring a lunch so we can knit on into the afternoon from 1-4
The pattern Katherine will use for this presentation will provide practice in both texture and two-color (stranded) knitting. It can be knit in the child’s size in about four hours, but an adult size will also be provided. Learn chart reading, two-color knitting, texture knitting and shaping
Bring: Two colors of DK-weight yarn (a light color and a dark color), US size 2 or 3 needles, tapestry needle, scissors, and stitch markers. Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride and US size 3 needles will work for adult mittens.

Guild Potluck and Yarn Sale or Exchange
Please bring covered dish, soup, salad or dessert to share. Bring the beverage of your choice. Please come even if you don’t have time to bring something to share.
This is your chance to sell, trade, or share your yarn, books, UFOs and other knitting paraphernalia. Please label items for sale with your name and the price. If you do not know the person who is selling an item – just ask one of the board members, they will be happy to point out the seller. DKG merchandise may also be available for sale. Stock up if you missed it at the Yarn Market. Evening meeting attendees are encouraged to come early – have lunch, visit, and knit. It’s also a good time to renew your membership – save time and a stamp.
