Monday, February 18, 2019 will be the first meeting for the DKG.

Come learn how to knit a coaster in the art of Double Knitting…taught to you by none other than me…Heather Janney…author of this blog…coaster making expert. I will teach you to make one of these treasures using a sailboat pattern. Bring cotton, worsted wt. yarn in 2 contrasting  colors. Bring size US 1 knitting needles (no shorter than 7” long). You only use the US 1 needles twice but it’s really important. Keeps your coaster from flairing out. Use US 3 knitting needles for body. I will start out by teaching you an Invisable Cast-on.

Come join us…more info to come on this Blog…

Sad news: Velma Waker died yesterday…I have already missed her at the last few meetings…I remember that Velma taught herself to knit…she was an expert knitter. I will miss her pleasent smile and laugh.

  1. Heather, thanks for these posts. It is nice to hear what is going on at the Guild. We moved to Austin, Texas (Yikes) last August to be near to two of our three children, and our grandchildren so I am missing the monthly Guild meetings. I am proud though to have recently started a weekly knitting group here. All the best to everyone in Dayton.
