Where did the summer go? I’m still hanging on. It’s time to start knitting those fall items (Lightweight sweater or jacket). Winter will soon be here. We need to make wool hats, mittens, slippers and scarves.
I’m sorry to say that I will have to miss the first meeting since our summer break. I am very disappointed. My work schedule has changed after many years. I always had Sunday’s off. Now I work every other Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Can’t work and go to the Dayton Knitting Guild meetings at the same time. Or can I?
Well in this day and age of digital everything, I should be able to watch the meeting on my cell phone. I don’t have a cell phone and I’m not on Facebook. I’m on Ravelry. You can find me at: Iknit4fun2. You can tell me how you liked the meeting.
All the information you will ever need to know about the Meeting:
Regular Guild meetings are held the third Monday of each month at St. Mary’s Center
Morning Meeting: 10:00 a.m.
Evening Meeting: 7:00 p.m.
Programs are presented at both sessions.
We will meet on Monday September 19th 2016
The topic will be:
I Bought This Yarn, Now What Will I Make With It?
Joyce Lewis will be our Presenter. She owns and operates The Yarn Shop in Columbus.
Joyce has been a part of the Dayton Knitting Guild since the very beginning. She has supported us as a vendor and as a friend. (I can’t believe I’m going to miss this one. Maybe I can get my Mother to go to the first meeting. My Mother has some yarn that she won at our Raffle that she doesn’t know what to do with)
How many times have we found yarn we couldn’t resist — only to get it home and realize we didn’t know what we would do with it. Or we bought yarn with one project in mind, then changed our minds. Or we visited a fiber festival, or a yarn crawl, or a stash sale — Come learn some tips and tricks for how to find a pattern perfect for that yarn!
No vendor this week since Woolgathering was the day before the meeting.
I’m going to miss Wool Gathering too!!! I hate my life (not really).
The best thing about doing this Blog is getting to share my “show and share”.
The photo you see is a baby sweater for a 6 month old. She or he will be born around Sept. 26th. I’m going to miss the October meeting too. I’ll be seeing the baby on October 17th in Denver, Colorado.
